Nationals’ member for the South West Region Hon. Colin Holt has welcomed the recent Community Sport and Recreation Facility Fund (CSRFF) announcement, which has seen the Shire of Harvey secure over $690,000 for new clubrooms and pavilion at Harvey recreation Ground.
The grant was one of the 55 community sport and recreation projects funded through the 2011/12 round of the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF), administered by the Department of Sport and Recreation (DSR).
This round’s successful applicants will share in a total of $15.8 million in funding.
Mr Holt said the commitment recognised the contribution sport and recreation made to the local community and to the lives of everyday Western Australians.
“Sport and recreation is such a vibrant and integral part of our community. We love our sport and recreation in the South West, so it’s great to see it supported in our community through this funding,” Mr Holt said.
“Not only will the works hopefully result in more people in our community participating and leading happier and healthier lifestyles, the works will also provide a boost to local tradespeople who will build the new and improved infrastructure.”
“I was in Harvey for the recent WAFL game which was a fantastic event for an even better cause. Through today’s announcement Harvey will be well situated to attract more major sporting events in the future,” said Mr Holt
