The Broome Community Resource Centre (CRC) will today celebrate the official launch of their re-branding during a community event at the premises, officiated by the Member for Mining and Pastoral Region, the Hon Wendy Duncan MLC.
Ms Duncan said that The Broome CRC was the first Centre to open its doors twenty years ago, and was established to help increase post compulsory education in regional and remote areas.
“The Broome Community Resource Centre has provided local access to technology such as video conferencing facilities, training and other technology related services, whilst playing a key role in supporting regional growth and prosperity for a twenty year period.” said Ms Duncan.
Royalties for Regions contributed $53 691 towards the Broome Community Resource Centre to enhance the delivery and diversity of important community services, including capacity building and access to government and commercial services.
Ms Duncan said that the Broome CRC was a credit to the Committee, chaired by local identity Ted Wilkinson and to the staff that manage and support the centre.
“I encourage the Broome community to come along and meet the resource centre staff and see how the centre has evolved over the years.” said Ms Duncan. Proceedings get underway at 10.30am at 40 Dampier Tce.
