Royalties for Regions delivers for Wyalkatchem CRC, Davies

Member for the Agricultural Region, Mia Davies today attended the rebranding ceremony of the Wyalkatchem Community Resource Centre.
Speaking at the official opening of the centre, Ms Davies said the Community Resource Centre provides a range of vital services and acts as a hub for the Wyalkatchem community.
“Celebrating the rebranding of the Community Resource Centres is important because it helps to highlight the new services available and the expanded role the centres now play,” Ms Davies said.
“With the boost in funding from Royalties for Regions, these centres have expanded to provide a range of government services, including acting as an agent for Centrelink and Medicare.
“They also continue to provide access to video conferencing, internet access, printing and publishing services and IT support.
“This is a great example of the benefits Royalties for Regions is delivering to our regional communities, to make them better places to live, work and invest.”
Ms Davies congratulated Wyalkatchem Community Resource Centre Chair, Marcus Reily and Coordinator Lynsey Gawley for their great work in managing the centre.
“Community Resource Centres rely on the dedication of staff, volunteers and the wider community – it is a great credit to Wyalkatchem that they have such a good centre.
“With help from Royalties for Regions, these centres are delivering the essential community resources that many Western Australians take for granted.”
The WA Community Resource Network builds on one of Western Australia’s longest running and most successful regional community service programs, the telecentre program.
The Community Resource Network received $60 million from Royalties for Regions to build on the services provided by CRCs and to re-brand the centres to reflect their expanded role.
There are 106 Community Resource Centres across the state.
