Published on: 05-July-2011

More industrial land is being made available to help meet the growing demands of industry in the Pilbara with 39 lots released today at Hedland Junction.

Hedland Junction, a LandCorp project in the Wedgefield Industrial Estate near Port Hedland, will attract new businesses to the area and help expand existing Hedland industry.

Regional Development and Lands Minister Brendon Grylls said the State Government was delivering industrial land in the Pilbara to support the region’s economic growth.

“Hedland Junction, as part of Pilbara Cities, offers excellent potential for businesses servicing the mining, construction and transport industries,” Mr Grylls said.

“This is an exciting phase for the area and the State Government is working closely with the Town of Port Hedland and other agencies to prepare Wedgefield for its role as one of the Pilbara’s key industrial estates.”

The new release will include 21 light industrial lots ranging from 2,000sqm to 5,000sqm and 18 lots within the transport use area sized between 4,000sqm and three hectares.

A further 19 lots are available at Gap Ridge Industrial Estate, near Karratha, taking the total number of industrial lots available in the region to 58.

The transport use lots have been planned to meet heavy haulage companies’ needs with wider roads and dual road access to enable easy flow through for traffic. The lots are also served by wide road reserves and intersections to accommodate B doubles, B triples and quads.

Offers to purchase close at 4pm Wednesday, August 3.
