Corporate suites unveiled as arena takes shape, Waldron

Sport and Recreation Minister Terry Waldron and Treasurer Christian Porter said West Australians can expect world-class facilities when Perth Arena opens next year.

Mr Waldron said the arena would provide WA with a world-class 14,000 seat complex for premium entertainment and sporting events.

“You are the first guests at one of the best corporate suites in the venue,” he said, as he showed off the newly-finished area to media representatives.

“The suite size capacities vary from 10 to 32 people, with 26 hospitality suites on two levels.  These offer a total capacity for 540, who will enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the event floor and bowl from their seats.”

Mr Waldron said there would also be a multi-table, multi-seat concert club-style suite for corporate patrons preferring a more open social networking atmosphere.

Mr Porter said despite the previous Labor government failing to develop a solid business case for the project before works commenced, the Liberal-National Government was looking forward to delivering an outstanding arena in 2012.

“We have inherited this project with all its challenges but the State Government is committed to providing a world-class venue to the people of WA,” Mr Porter said.
