Davies welcomes Regional Grants Scheme funding for Mid West

Member for the Agricultural Region, Mia Davies today welcomed the latest round of funding under the Royalties for Regions’ Regional Grants Scheme, which included nearly a million dollars for 23 projects in the Mid West region. 

Ms Davies said these projects will provide a significant boost to Mid West communities by investing in infrastructure and services that help attract investment and create local jobs.
 
Royalties for Regions is about local decision making, giving communities the power to decide what is important for their town and build on local priority projects,” Ms Davies said.
 
“The Regional Grants Scheme gives community groups, local governments, public and private organisations the opportunity to put forward project proposals to help their region prosper.”
 
Projects to receive funding in the Mid West include:
  • Binnu Tennis Club for the Binnu Hall Enhancement ($41,012);
  •  Bundiyarra Aboriginal Corporation to refurbish the Boomerang Hostel ($62,636);
  • Carnamah Historical Society Inc. for the window to the past project ($1,939);
  • Combined Universities Centre for Rural Health for Donor Awareness ($46,500);
  • Coorow Primary School for the Mid West Hub School Project ($48,000);
  • Geraldton Surf Life Saving Club for Surf Life Saving Club Redevelopment ($16,150);
  • Kalbarri Golf & Bowling Club for the Manager's office and shed ($25,500);
  • Marra Arts Aboriginal Corporation for the Yamaji Art supporting the Mullewa Indigenous Womens Group and the Artists of Morawa ($60,000);
  • Mid West Sports Federation for the Mid West Coaching Program ($60,000);
  • Northampton Child Care Association for an After School Care Space ($8,000);
  • Shire of Carnamah (auspice for Carnamah P&C) for the Carnamah Pre-Primary Bike Track ($4,525) and resurfacing, lighting and new fencing of tennis courts ($21,260);
  • Shire of Chapman Valley for the Nabawa Basketball Courts Upgrade ($5,600) and for the Chapman Valley Rifle Club to upgrade targets ($34,154);
  • Shire of Irwin for the Irwin Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Shed ($20,000);
  • Shire of Northampton for the Northampton Guide Park Development ($36,874) and improvements to the Kalbarri Bowling Club ($50,000);
  • Shire of Three Springs for the Mingenew-Three Springs Exchange Upgrade ($50,000);
  • Spalding Park Golf Club Inc for the equipment wash down facility ($29,454);
  • St John Ambulance for the Perenjori St Johns Ambulance Building ($40,000).
