Women across regional Western Australia have an opportunity be involved in the Rural Remote and Regional (RRR) Women’s Network.
Agriculture and Food Minister Terry Redman encouraged women who wanted to make a difference to their local community or industry sector to nominate themselves to be part of the RRR reference group.
“The RRR provides a wonderful avenue for women to pursue issues that they are passionate about,” Mr Redman said.
“Women who are active in their local community and interested in health, education, small business, agribusiness, local government, indigenous affairs and multicultural affairs would be an asset to the reference group.”
The reference group’s role is to set the strategic direction for the RRR Network, which has more than 7,200 members throughout the State.
Regional Development Minister Brendon Grylls said the network was established 15 years ago to connect women across rural and remote areas of WA.
The network and its members are important contributors to a range of discussions affecting regional people and their communities.
“The diversity of the RRR Network’s members is a vital ingredient to its success, harnessing the views and values of women from different backgrounds, skills, industry sectors and geographical areas,” Mr Grylls said.
The RRR Network has its own website, which is used by members to highlight current local issues, promote regional initiatives and events, and network with women from across the State and around the world. It also produces the quarterly RRR Network News magazine, a monthly E-Newsletter and the network has its own Facebook page.
