The Bridge Street residential development at Halls Creek will be expanded, with civil works starting on Stage 2.
The 2.46ha site will provide 20 residential lots which has the potential to accommodate an extra 45 homes.
Regional Development and Lands Minister Brendon Grylls said civil works were expected to be completed by the end of December this year.
“The civil works will allow LandCorp to be in a position to release land at Halls Creek for public sale early next year,” Mr Grylls said.
“This residential development will provide much needed housing options for Halls Creek, which has a growing community and a positive future.”
“With projects such as the Bridge Street development, the State Government is meeting housing needs for remote communities despite the challenges.
The Minister said the release of residential lots onto the market was expected to commence in 2012.
“LandCorp and the Water Corporation will work together to determine release of land titles for Stage 2, to be finalised in December 2011,” he said.
- In April this year, LandCorp released two 920sqm lots suitable for three homes each and a larger 2,700sqm block could be developed with up to 10 homes
- Preliminary planning also begun on new residential and industrial projects to ensure they are ready for development once additional water sources available
- Civil works for the Bridge Street Stage 2 development will be undertaken by Ertech Pty Ltd.
