Lands Minister Brendon Grylls has announced the release of new commercial land in Joondalup as part of the State Government’s support for development of Perth’s North Metropolitan corridor.
The latest release of almost 10ha of prime commercial land in The Quadrangle, a LandCorp site at the southern gateway to the Joondalup City Centre, responds to the area’s rapid growth and supports Joondalup City Council’s future economic development plans.
Located just 25 minutes from the centre of Perth, The Quadrangle is suitable for a range of land uses including commercial, education, training, offices, retail and other support services.
Mr Grylls said the two large lots being offered were perfectly suited for commercial and or office-based businesses and would generate many employment opportunities.
“The lots are in an excellent location, close to major transport links, extensive educational and health services and one of Australia’s largest shopping precincts,” he said.
“Few comparable sites have become available in Perth for some time and considerable interest is expected.”
From its inception, Joondalup has been characterised by an integrated planning approach, especially the mix of residential, commercial, retail, recreational and educational areas.
When fully developed The Quadrangle is expected to further consolidate the city as a strategic metropolitan activity centre.
The Minister said the development of the site would occur over a number of years and would be guided by design controls established with the City of Joondalup.
LandCorp will offer the two lots (Lot 806 comprising 4.42619ha and Lot 807 comprising 5.4143ha) for sale by Request for Proposal (RFP). The option is available to purchase one or both lots.
The RFP closes at 2pm WST on Thursday December 1, 2011.
All areas are subject to final survey
