Regional Development Minister Brendon Grylls joined thousands of people today via the Westlink satellite network to participate in the Western Australian Community Resource Network’s 20th anniversary Big Breakfast event.
Mr Grylls said he was excited to be part of the Big Breakfast and to join CRCs State-wide to acknowledge the 20-year contribution they have made to regional Western Australia.
“CRCs throughout the State held simultaneous breakfast events utilising their state-of-the-art videoconferencing technology via the Westlink network,” he said.
“It’s wonderful to see this technology being harnessed in a fun and innovative way to bring together a network of people who are geographically separated but share the same passion for building capacity in their communities.”
“These friendly, locally-owned centres not only provide a wide array of information and community-based services, they also help to bring the people of regional WA together.
“In addition, funding provided through the State Government’s Royalties for Regions program allows our CRCs to provide a central, easily accessible point for local people, businesses and visitors to access a comprehensive collection of essential information on Government services.”
