Regional Development and Lands Minister Brendon Grylls today announced a new release of light industrial land, further accelerating Newman’s growth to becoming a major Pilbara town.

Mr Grylls said releasing 21 lots in Newman would not only provide more opportunity for local businesses to expand or relocate, but offer new businesses their chance to service the area.

“The site has good access to major transport links, including the Great Northern Highway, and is located 1.5km from the town’s centre,” he said.

“As a key service centre for one of the world’s biggest iron-ore mining operations, Newman Light Industrial Area (LIA) is supporting economic growth and employment in the region.”

The Minister said providing industrial land was a key component of the Pilbara Cities vision.

“The State Government is developing more permanent, vibrant places for people to live and work so we need to be able to create and support jobs, and to continue to increase the infrastructure in the region,” he said.

The online registration of interest process for Stage 3 lots at the Newman LIA is being run by LandCorp, the Government’s land development agency.

The serviced lots are suitable for a variety of businesses, including building, construction and mining equipment providers.
