Nationals State President Colin Holt has welcomed the endorsement by State Council of the membership to the party of Vince Catania and his wife Johanna. Mr Holt said the decision would not have been easy for the member to make given his long association with the Labor Party.
“Mr Catania told delegates that The Nationals approach to politics was refreshing and allowed him to focus on delivering the best outcome for his constituents in the electorate of North West,” he said.
Mr Catania said Royalties for Regions had provided a new focus on people living in regional WA and would allow a portion of the significant benefits that we receive in mining and petroleum royalties to be reinvested into our communities.
“I am looking forward to working with a party that is driven from the grassroots and allows me to get on with the job I was elected to do,” Mr Catania said.
Mr Catania said The Nationals were about delivering Royalties for Regions and rebuilding regional Western Australia.
“I look forward to working with The Nationals members in my electorate and supporting Wendy Duncan in the Mining and Pastoral Region,” he said.
