Member for Moore, Hon Grant Woodhams MLA, today accompanied the Minister for Regional Development and Lands, Hon Brendon Grylls MLA to Jurien Bay for the launch of works on the Jurien Bay foreshore and jetty Redevelopment project.
The redevelopment project was made possible by a successful funding application through the Royalties for Regions grants scheme lodged by the Shire of Dandaragan.
"The Jurien Bay foreshore and jetty redevelopment project is a great example of how the Royalties for Regions program is delivering back to regional communities" Mr Woodhams said.
"Jurien Bay has long been a coastal holiday destination for many and the jetties and foreshore hold a special place in many people’s memories.
"Being able to retain the jetties for future generations of holiday makers and Jurien Bay locals is a great outcome and the benefits, both social and economic will be invaluable to the community."
With the opening of the Indian Ocean Drive expected by the middle of the year, the future for the area is looking bright, with tourism numbers expected to increase dramatically. Indian Ocean Drive will provide an alternative route north and will introduce travellers to the beautiful Coral Coast.
