Nationals’ member for the South West Region Hon. Colin Holt has congratulated local Albany builder Pinelock on securing a State contract to construct 19 homes across the southern half of regional WA under the Royalties for Regions program.

“It is great to see the Essential Worker Housing program, a Nationals policy platform at the last election coming to fruition”

“It is even greater to see a local building company being involved in delivering new houses for our essential workers. As a result of the new contract, Pinelock now employs 12 qualified and 8 training carpenters. That is brilliant.” Mr Holt said.

Mr Holt also said the funding of the Essential Worker Housing program through Royalties for Regions means an improvement in housing offered to government employees such as Police and Teachers.

“These people are a critical component of life in regional WA, and it is often this sort of support that helps them in their job. I have lived in many towns in regional WA, and I know that a nice home means less hassle for my wife and family. This means that our essential workers will have less home hassles and greater energy for their role in the community.” Mr Holt said.
