Engine room needs highway upgrade, Holt

With the ACDC tour finished, Nationals’ member for the South West Region Hon. Colin Holt has called on the State Government to remember the Coalfields Highway at budget time to ensure it does not become a highway to hell.
“I have written to Minister O’Brien stressing to him the vital role the Coalfields Highway plays servicing the economic engine room of the South West,” said Mr Holt.
“We all know that it has been a tough year for government expenditure, with less income than expected slowing the roll out of the Government’s road building program, but with the outlook for better economic times, I am determined to keep the Coalfields highway on the play list.”
“I have also spoken to Minister O’Brien at Parliament to express my commitment to the project. I am hopeful he can fit the Coalfields highway as a piece of his budget jigsaw.”
