New North West airline services welcomed, Duncan

The Hon Wendy Duncan MLC, Member for the Mining and Pastoral Region, has today welcomed the announcement by Airnorth Chief Executive Officer, Ms Simone Saunders, of their two new services to the North West of Western Australia.
Ms Duncan said that the two new services to Port Hedland and Karratha are a welcome addition to their Kununurra and Broome services which operate daily out of Darwin.
“Having these additional Airnorth services will link airline travel between the Kimberley and Pilbara regions, taking out the need for people from these North West regions to first travel to Perth in order to access other North West centres.
Ms Duncan said that the additional services would open up further business, tourism, and employment opportunities and development for the North West of the State, and commended Airnorth for their commitment to airline travel in Western Australia.
The scheduled services will commence on the 01 June 2010, and will initially be twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. Bookings have already opened for purchase on these routes, and can be made through
