Response to Barry Haase, Craigie

Barry Haase’s recent letter only goes to show why WA continues to lose out to the Eastern States when it comes to services and infrastructure.
Of course politics is about numbers, but gaining a majority is not the only way to influence political outcomes. As The Nationals have clearly demonstrated by achieving the balance of power in Western Australia, independent representation has the potential to deliver serious results for regional areas.
Mr Haase is missing the point if he thinks playing party politics will appeal to regional WA. People are tired of the rhetoric from both Liberal and Labor – they want someone to stand up for their fair share.
Before the last State election both major parties said The Nationals couldn’t win the balance of power. They also said we couldn’t deliver Royalties for Regions. History says otherwise.
The Nationals are committed to representing regional WA in Canberra. The best way to successfully achieve this is with an independent voice in the Federal Parliament.
Representatives from both major parties struggle to deliver for their electorate, because they are outnumbered in the party room by city politicians.
Voters have a choice this election and The Nationals have a pretty good track record of delivering.
It’s time to reverse the rip off and achieve long awaited positive changes for WA.
