Local Member Terry Waldron said that local sporting clubs and their communities would benefit from the Community Sport & Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) Small Grants Funding announced last week.
“These smaller grants up to a maximum of $75,000 awarded across the state will deliver the real needs of many clubs and deliver real local benefits,” Mr Waldron said.
“These grants which have a simpler and quicker application process are open twice a year in February and again in July,” he said.
Grants across our region included:
- Narrogin – upgrade of disability facilities at Narrogin Recreation Centre - $6,150
- Narrogin – lighting upgrade at 4 tennis courts - $18,333
- Wandering – Upgrade Wandering oval - $49,340
- Wagin – synthetic grass tee boxes - $2,590
- Nyabing – resurface netball court - $5,764
- Gnowangerup – relocation of cricket pitch - $4,723
- Kulin – synthetic grass tee boxes - $8,000
- Brookton – resurfacing swimming pool bowl - $25,166
Mr Waldron said that due to the high number of applications not all clubs were successful with their applications.
However the clubs may apply in the next round that opens in July 2010.
