Nationals’ member for the South West Region Hon. Colin Holt has welcomed the State Governments recent announcement to invest almost $7 million to improve regional airports and Mr Holt is pleased that South West communities have not missed out.

“This investment will see over $400,000 invested in improvements and upgrades at Augusta, Boyup Brook, Manjimup and Bunbury,” said Mr Holt.

“Regional airports are vital avenues for connecting regional communities and this investment will ensure regional airports continue to support regional communities, business and tourism in the South West”

“Royalties for Regions contributed $5.5 million to this program and this again shows that Royalties for Regions is committed to improving the infrastructure capacity of the South West and supports projects which will help grow and develop our region,’ said Mr Holt.

“This funding will help upgrade and extend the air strip in Boyup Brook so it can meet RFDS and FESA Water Bomber requirements. These improvements will improve the Boyup Brook’s capacity during bushfire and other emergencies”

“This is a great result for the whole South West with the whole region benefiting from this announcement. This announcement is just another positive result the Royalties for Regions program is having in the South West,” said Mr Holt
