Local Member for Wagin Terry Waldron has confirmed the installation of a CT scanner for the Narrogin Hospital.
“Commencement of the capital works to install the CT scanner in Narrogin has been approved,” Mr Waldron said.
“The works are scheduled to commence in July and it is anticipated that the CT Scanner will be operational in January 2011,” he said.
Mr Waldron said that once installed the CT Scanner will complement and expand the services to patients in Narrogin and the surrounding Southern Wheatbelt area.
“This has been a long journey to obtain this vital health equipment for our region and many people have worked and lobbied hard to ensure it happened,” Mr Waldron said.
“It is really pleasing to now have a CT Scanner as a reality as it will greatly assist and benefit so many across our region.” Mr Waldron said.
Mr Waldron thanked the Health Minister Kim Hames for listening to local people, recognising the realistic needs and ensuring the CT Scanner was delivered.
“I also thank all those locally who have assisted and played an important role in gaining the CT Scanner.” Mr Waldron said.
