We’ve heard criticisms of The Nationals plan to Reverse the Rip-off by matching Royalties for Regions. Labor and Liberal MPs have been decrying this plan as unconstitutional. Unsurprisingly, the people creating this scuttlebutt have the most to gain by undermining The Nationals.
The Nationals have advice from the Commonwealth Parliamentary Library and respected Political Analyst Harry Phillips that dispel any concerns regarding these claims.
Even if the major parties wanted to support the plan, their Eastern States dominated Party rooms would never agree.
Matching Royalties for Regions would cost approximately $2.7 billion over 3 years. The Federal Government is spending $3.2 billion on the construction of a new urban rail route in Victoria alone.
Don’t be distracted by the noise from the major parties. The Nationals are the only Party with a plan to get a fair share Federal funding for regional WA.
