Lands Minister Brendon Grylls has announced the completion of 86 new lots, with the potential to accommodate up to 108 additional dwellings in Kununurra’s Lakeside Park.

Thirty-seven of the Stage 5 residential lots today went to market on private treaty.

Announcing the latest land release, Mr Grylls said the blocks were located close to Lily Creek Lagoon and Lake Kununurra and ranged in size from 537sqm to 825sqm.

"The lots are priced from $133,000 and fully serviced with power, water, sewerage and telecommunications," he said

"Another 20 lots have been allocated house-land packages. LandCorp is working with builders and developers through a Registrations Of Interest (ROI) process to deliver affordable, innovative and climate-responsive housing to Kununurra."

In support of the $415million funding provision for infrastructure projects with the Shire of Wyndham-East Kimberley, 26 lots were allocated to the Department of Housing, WA Country Health and Government Regional Officers Housing.

The remaining three Stage 5 lots were earmarked for group housing with the potential to deliver 31 dwellings. The latest release brought the total number of lots delivered at Kununurra Lakeside Park to approximately 250.

The Minister also announced that a local indigenous labour hire company, Wanna Work, had been engaged to complete landscaping and concrete treatments throughout the Stage 5 development area.

"Wanna Work employees get valuable on-the-job experience, accreditation in plant and equipment operation and occupational health and safety management," he said. "This experience will provide the business and its employees with the opportunity of future contracting and employment opportunities."
