President of The Nationals WA, Colin Holt, has congratulated the Member for O’Connor, Tony Crook on being sworn in as a Member of the House of Representatives this week.
Mr Holt said it was a remarkable achievement for The Nationals WA to secure the seat of O’Connor in the Federal Election, and deliver the first WA National to Canberra since 1974.
“Those living in the electorate of O’Connor could not have a better representative in Canberra than Tony Crook,” Mr Holt said.
“Tony is passionate about developing regional Australia, and he is committed to securing the best deal for O’Connor and Western Australia.
“As an Independent WA National, Tony will be able to work with all key stakeholders, including both sides of Parliament and those on the cross-benches to get the best deal for regional WA.”
“Tony is committed to building on the successful mechanisms we’ve developed in Western Australia to deliver a fair share for everyone in regional areas.”
Mr Holt said he looked forward to seeing regional Australia placed firmly in the spotlight.
“I know Tony Crook will be fighting to make sure regional WA, the engine-room of Australia’s economy, gets the best deal possible” he said.
