Heritage grants awarded in Dongara, Woodhams

Grant Woodhams MLA, Member for Moore has welcomed a heritage grant awarded by the State Government in the Moore electorate.
“The local recipient of this year’s Heritage Grants Program is St John the Baptist Anglican Church, Dongara who have received a $28,000 grant for conservation works” Mr Woodhams said.
Heritage Minister John Castrilli advised the WA Heritage Grants Program for 2010-11 will see 18 grants totalling $670,700 to private owners of heritage properties throughout Western Australia.
“The grants will assist owners with the conservation of their heritage properties,” Mr Woodhams said.
The Heritage Grants Program offers owners of buildings listed on the State Register of Heritage Places grants of $20,000 or more for conservation works. Smaller grants of about $3,000 are awarded for the development of plans and documents prepared by heritage professionals to guide conservation works.
Mr Woodhams congratulated the owners who, as custodians of WA’s local history, breathed new life into their heritage places through hard work and dedication.
