State Director of The Nationals WA open for applications

The Nationals WA invite applications for the position of State Director.
The State Director, working with the State President and Party Officers, oversees all program and fundraising activities of the State Party. The State Director is responsible for managing the Party’s organisation in a complex and competitive political environment. He or she must be reliable, honest and discreet. The State Director reports to the State Executive and the State Council.
Primary responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
- Serving as the chief strategic and tactical executive of The Nationals WA.
- Overseeing the Party’s campaign efforts.
- Understanding the grassroots organisation of the Party structure.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the use of technology for winning elections.
- Managing political relationships both within WA and on a national basis.
- Reviewing staff functions, in consultation with the State Executive, and structuring job responsibilities, if necessary.
- Directing fundraising efforts.
- Working with the State President, Treasurer and Executive to develop and adhere to an operating budget.
- Working with the Party leadership to determine goals and priorities and monitor progress.
- Co-ordinate written reports for all meetings associated with the running of the organisation.
- Act as a liaison with the State Executive, State and Federal Parliamentary organisations and Ministerial representatives.
- Attend State Executive, State Council and relevant Federal and inter-state Party meetings when relevant.
- Making sure all finance reports, tax returns and other required reports are accurately and timely filed in accordance with the requirements of the Australian Taxation Office, the WA Electorate Commission and the Australian Electoral Commission.
- Working with the Party leadership to issue press releases, speak out on important issues, respond to relevant issues, and present The Nationals in a positive and professional manner.
- Overseeing and maintaining the relationships between the Party leadership (State Executive and Council), elected Members of Parliament and key stakeholders.
- Overseeing the development and production of party-building and message delivery tools (electronic and print media).
- Overseeing the organisation of all meetings of the Party Units as required by the Party’s Constitution.
- Demonstrating an understanding of all aspects of elections, including state of the art campaign techniques, planning, targeting, polling, and election legislation.
