Nationals’ Member for the South West Region Hon. Colin Holt has welcomed the recent announcement of the July round of the Community Sport and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) which has seen sporting groups in the South West secure much needed funding.

Through the July round Bunbury Tennis Club was awarded $40,000 to resurface the courts at the local club. Collie Golf Club was also able to secure $27, 497 in funding to improve reticulation at the local golf club.

“These small grants have a massive impact on local communities. Sport is an important conduit in country communities and it is fantastic to see South West sport receive this important injection,” said Mr Holt.

“I have been regularly contacted by South West residents who want to see better facilities their local sporting grounds. It is pleasing to see CSRFF funding delivering such great outcomes.”

Other local winners in this round of funding was the Leschenault Cricket Club which received $46,697 to install a new turf wicket, improved reticulation and upgrade to their main oval.

The small grants open in February and July each year with a total annual budget of $1.5million ($750,000 in each round).

Standard grants of up to $50,000 are available on a one-third contribution basis of the total eligible project cost. The opportunity exists to get up to fifty per cent funding if the development bonus criteria are met, increasing the potential maximum grant to $75,000.
