Grant Woodhams MLA has welcomed successful Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) grant to the Shire of Three Springs which has received funding towards the construction of two new netball courts.

This grant is one of the 31 community sport and recreation projects State-wide funded through the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) Small Grants program.

This round’s successful applicants will share in a total of $708,950 in funding.

Administered by the Department of Sport and Recreation (DSR), the small grants are for projects under $150,000.

“I look forward to seeing this small grant make a big difference to people in our community, through both the improvements to the facilities and the benefits that come from increasing participation in sport and recreation,” Mr Woodhams said.

“There’s nothing small about the value of sport and recreation to our community – it makes individuals stronger and healthier and the communities themselves stronger and safer, so I thank as well as congratulate our local recipients.”

The small grants open in February and July each year with a total annual budget of $1.5million ($750,000 in each round).

Standard grants of up to $50,000 are available on a one-third contribution basis of the total eligible project cost. The opportunity exists to get up to fifty per cent funding if the development bonus criteria are met, increasing the potential maximum grant to $75,000.
