Member for Moore, Grant Woodhams MLA has backed calls by Perenjori Shire President, Chris King for urgent funding to upgrade the Perenjori – Mullewa Road.

Mr King’s comments came in response to the State Government’s $178.8 million investment in the grain freight network which sees the Mid West miss out on funding.
“I am very disappointed that roads and rail in the Mid West have missed out in this funding round,” Mr Woodhams said.
“And I fully support Mr King’s call for urgent funding for an upgrade of the Perenjori – Mullewa Road.
“I have been advocating to the Minister for Transport on behalf of the Shires of Perenjori, Morawa and Mullewa for some years for urgent funding for an upgrade to the Perenjori – Mullewa Road, and I would have thought that this road would have been identified as a priority by the Strategic Grain Network Committee.” Mr Woodhams said.
“This road needs an upgrade just to cater for normal traffic use, let alone the increase in road train haulage that is currently been experienced and I am committed to the continuing advocacy on behalf of the Shires for this to be acknowledged and acted on by the State.”
