The key to attracting families to regional WA is having a high-quality education available for their kids. While a number of schools in regional WA constantly overachieve in high school results, there is still a lot of work to do to make sure regional kids have the opportunity to learn.
The Nationals WA want to make sure our teachers are supported and that students are engaged through the learning process.
To do this, we need to makes sure teachers in regional WA are able to build long regional careers, that schools have the autonomy to teach subjects relevant to their students and that facilities are properly maintained.
The Nationals WA led the fight against Labor’s cuts to School of the Air, Moora Residential College, camp schools and many other essential regional services. Under The Nationals WA in government, regional education will grow and flourish.
We also want to make sure kids know where their food comes from. That’s why we want to introduce agriculture into the school curriculum, so city kids and country kids alike can learn about what goes into the food and fibre we eat. We believe this will begin to break down the city-country divide, building a better Western Australia.
