Spokesperson for Treasury; Energy; Aboriginal Affairs; Regional Services Reform; Corrective Services; Finance

Terry’s family farming and small business links to the South West and Great Southern stretch back generations.

Terry began his career in country WA after graduating in Agricultural Science from the University of Western Australia. Prior to entering politics, he was the Principal of the WA College of Agriculture in Denmark and owner of a local small business with his wife Marie.

First elected to Parliament in 2005 as Member for Stirling, Terry has been a staunch defender of regional interests, championing improved services and infrastructure for people who live and work in country WA.

At the 2013 State election, boundary changes created the electorate of Warren-Blackwood, which Terry successfully contested, with local communities embracing Royalties for Regions.

In November 2013 Terry was elected leader of The Nationals WA, taking over the role from Brendon Grylls. He was also appointed Minister of Regional Development; Lands, taking on the responsibility of overseeing the Royalties for Regions program.

Terry stepped down as The Nationals' Parliamentary leader in mid-2016 to allow Brendon Grylls to drive a policy agenda in the lead up to the 2017 State election. He continues to hold the office of Minister for Regional Development.

Terry is proud to be part of the team delivering Royalties for Regions and to see communities across his electorate benefit from this program.
