Where the bloody hell are you, Labor?

Have your say on why it's unfair that the McGowan Labor Government is supporting cheaper flights to Broome while airfares to other destinations in regional WA remain unaffordable. We want #fairfares!

We want cheaper airfares for all

Mark McGowan has announced taxpayers will subsidise Qantas airfares to Broome and Broome only. Meanwhile, the Tourism Minister is spending hundreds of millions of dollars promoting cheap Perth hotel rooms and seems infatuated with quokka selfies.

Isn’t it time the government stops neglecting our regional tourism hotspots and supports all destinations which make WA truly unique?

Anyone who has pat a kangaroo at Lucky Bay, traversed the gorges at Karijini, frolicked with dolphins at Monkey Mia or sipped on a Margaret River cab sav understands there are many regional jewels in our State’s tourism crown.

Yet under the current Labor Government our regional tourism markets and operators are being shunned. This is hurting regional economies and costing jobs.

Regional centres like Busselton, Exmouth, Esperance, Albany, Kalgoorlie, Shark Bay, Geraldton, Kununurra and many others are the destinations which set our State apart from the rest.

The myriad small business operators that provide unique opportunities at our marine parks, World Heritage-listed sites, karri forests, coral reefs, and thousands of kilometres of pristine and untouched coastline all need assistance from the Government in tough times.

It’s clear the McGowan Government wants interstate and international visitors to stay in Perth at the expense of the regions.
