Agriculture is a major contributor to the WA economy and plays a crucial role in global food security.

After eight years of relentless attacks on agriculture, WA Labor has left farmers buried in red tape, battling bureaucratic chaos, and struggling with uncertainty.

At a federal level, our team are leading the charge to Keep the Sheep – having made overturning Labor’s ban of live sheep export a condition of forming government.

Our farming families and communities have put up with enough – its time for change.

The Nationals WA will take immediate action to rebuild and strengthen the sector.

Our plan includes:

  • Restore the Department of Agriculture and Food as a standalone department
  • Protect prime agricultural land from perverse development
  • Secure water supply for farms, pastoralists, and rural communities
  • Ensure fair, independent livestock welfare compliance – free from activist interference
  • Support agricultural education in WA schools and restore the Agricultural Education Directorate
  • Fix Labor’s botched Aboriginal Cultural Heritage laws, protecting your land rights
  • Rewrite Labor’s Firearms Act to allow farmers to effectively manage pests
  • Reverse Labor’s live sheep export ban, which is crippling our sheep and wool industries
