The Bindoon Men’s Shed Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Hon Martin Aldridge MLC as the inaugural shed Patron. Bindoon Men’s Shed Inc. President Mr Garry Gibellini said the arrangement would commence from 1 November 2019 for an ongoing term.
“The shed members have recently considered the benefit of having a Patron of our organisation and we are pleased that the Hon. Martin Aldridge has accepted the position”, said Mr Gibellini.
Mr Aldridge, a Member of Parliament whose office is located in Bindoon welcomes the opportunity to work more closely with the Bindoon Men’s Shed as its Patron. “Men’s Sheds play an important role in our community in so many ways.
“We often see our Men’s Sheds playing important roles in the community, supporting events, undertaking community projects and teaching new skills, however their most important work is the contribution they make to men’s health and wellbeing”, Mr Aldridge said.
Earlier this year the State Government launched the first Western Australian Men’s Health and Wellbeing Policy.
“The policy identified the clear challenges in improving health outcomes among men, especially in mental health, and the role that men’s sheds can play in connecting men with health services, promoting good health and wellbeing and supporting each other.
“Men’s Sheds play important and varying roles across Western Australia and I look forward to working more closely with the Bindoon shed in years to come”, Mr Aldridge said.
