Member for Central Wheatbelt Mia Davies MLA said nominations for the annual WA Youth Awards were now open.
These awards recognise the achievements of young people aged 12 to 25 from across Western Australia.
“I encourage Central Wheatbelt community members to nominate an outstanding young person for these awards,” Ms Davies said.
“There are many young people who work tirelessly having a positive impact in their community and these awards are the perfect opportunity to recognise this.”
“I often hear of local young people who have had sporting success, or are fundraising or selflessly donating their time to the community in different ways.”
Nominations are open for the following categories:
Minister for Youth’s Outstanding Youth Worker Award
Commissioner for Children and Young People Participate Award
ECU Community Leadership Award
Organisational Achievement Award – Small Organisation
Organisational Achievement Award – Large Organisation
Positive Achievement Award
Cultural Endeavours Award

The WA Young Person of the Year will be selected from category winners and will have the opportunity to travel across WA to participate in youth-related events.
The awards are presented by the Youth Affairs Council of WA in partnership with the State Government and supported by Lotterywest.
