Sixteen projects in the Wagin electorate will share in nearly $500,000 through the State Government’s Community Chest Fund (CCF).
The Great Southern Development Commission, Wheatbelt Development Commission and the Peel Development Commission announced the 16 latest local grants on Friday, which were all made possible by Royalties for Regions.
Member for Wagin Terry Waldron MLA said the CCF provided one-off grants to community, public and not-for-profit organisations to improve and develop infrastructure and services throughout the regions.
“I’m pleased that a number of different local communities will benefit from funded projects during this latest round,” Mr Waldron said.
“I congratulate the successful recipients and look forward to hearing of the implementation of these great local projects.”
The CCF provides voluntary organisations, educational institutions and community organisations with grants of up to $50,000 to support local projects.
WA’s nine regional development commissions oversee the projects, each being allocated an equal share from which to provide the CCF grants.
Member for Central Wheatbelt Mia Davies MLA will soon welcome the Shire of Boddington into her electorate and today congratulated the three successful Boddington groups.
“I’m pleased three Boddington community groups have been recognised to receive funding through the latest round of the CCF,” Ms Davies said.
“This is a highly competitive grants program and I commend the Shire of Boddington, local CRC and the Boddington Golf Club on their successful project applications, which are worth a combined $80,000.”
Nationals WA candidate for Roe and former GSDC Chair Peter Rundle said the CCF funding would support region-specific priorities that were driven by local communities to assist the development of infrastructure, services and community projects to help build vibrant regions with strong economies.
The State Government, through RfR, has invested $10 million into the CCF over four years.
