Candidate for the Mining and Pastoral Region
Over the past 14 years Daiva has lived in the Pilbara communities of Port Hedland, Wickham and Karratha, where she currently resides with her husband and two children.
Daiva comes from a career in mining. She has worked in process engineering for Rio Tinto and also in project management on a Woodside project in Karratha.
She is heavily invested in her community at both volunteer and board member level. Daiva is involved with four junior sporting clubs, is on Karratha Primary School P&C and is a board member of the Karratha Business Enterprise Centre. She has also previously served as a member of volunteer fire and rescue brigades and has been involved in both ballet and dance organisations.
Working in the community sparked a passion for Daiva to make the vast Mining and Pastoral Region a better place to live. She wants to lead the change that communities aspire to by engaging and inspiring a generation of fresh minds in politics. Her degrees in international trade and linguistics combined with her professional and volunteer experience make Daiva a great choice to represent people in the Pilbara and beyond.
