Julie is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of people and communities, wherever they are in WA.
Julie’s life in regional WA began as a graduate school teacher in Mullewa where she met her farmer and started a family. She built connections and belonging in her small town by adopting the mindset “How can I help?”. After 30 years of involvement in almost every community group in Mullewa, working with various Boards in Geraldton, and now as State President of The Nationals WA, Julie continues to ask the question “How can I help?”.
With experience as a Primary School Teacher, Director of a successful family business, Councillor on the former Mullewa Shire Council, and Chair of Geraldton Grammar School Board, Julie has a strong background in business, education, governance and leadership.
Julie has the capacity, lived experience and skills to step up and help, not just her own community, but the whole of Western Australia, as a Member of the Legislative Council. She has a proven record of having the courage to stand up and speak up for what’s fair and right.
