The Nationals WA believe that no community consultation should mean no renewables.

For too long, renewable giants have divided communities by going gate to gate, instead of having a genuine conversation with a community about the size and impact of their operations.

This has meant the community loses while a handful of individuals may win.

Even worse, offshore windfarms are being forced on communities with no thought for the coastline and no regard for the long-term impact.

We think any renewable project should have the ruler run over it and a clear, long term community benefit built into any plan.

Renewable projects in agreed regions should have fair compensation for landholders, and mandated community benefit funds so company profits go back to the community.

The Nationals WA will always put communities first.
