The Nationals WA candidate for Kalgoorlie, Tony Herron, has announced a $40 million election commitment to
fund Stage 2 of Pringle Village, ensuring older residents in the Goldfields can continue to age in their
community.
Mr Herron made the announcement alongside Leader of The Nationals WA Shane Love MLA and Goldfields
Masonic Homes chair Doug Daws today.
“Providing opportunities for older residents remain in the communities they’ve built and contributed to over a
lifetime is deeply important to me,” Mr Herron said.
“As my first election commitment for Kalgoorlie, I am proud to pledge $40 million from Royalties for Regions to
expand Pringle Village.
“This funding will deliver 80 additional independent living units, ensuring that more residents can access highquality housing close to family and essential services.”
Mr Herron described Pringle Village as a “resourcing success story” for the Goldfields.
“Residents tell me that Pringle Village allows them to stay connected to family and the region they call home,
all while receiving the support and services they need. It’s a shining example of how locally driven projects can
transform lives,” Mr Herron said.
“With demand now outstripping supply, more than 200 people are on the waiting list to join this thriving
community,” Mr Herron said.
Mr Herron praised Goldfields Masonic Homes for their forward-thinking approach, noting that much of the
groundwork for Stage 2 is already in place.
“Under the leadership of Doug Daws and his dedicated team, land has been secured, plans drawn up, and
costings completed. What’s missing is the funding to bring this vision to life – and The Nationals are stepping in
to make it happen,” he said.
“By creating additional independent living units, Pringle Village will allow up to 80 Goldfields households to
downsize, freeing up much-needed family homes for local buyers and encouraging more people to move to the
region,” Mr Herron said.
Leader of The Nationals WA Shane Love MLA reaffirmed the Party’s commitment to Pringle Village.
“Projects like Pringle Village are essential to ensuring our regional communities continue to grow and thrive,”
Mr Love said.
“This $40 million investment will enable Goldfields Masonic Homes to get straight to work on building 80 new
units, along with roads, fencing, and landscaping at this fantastic, locally managed facility in Lamington.”
The first stage of the development was supported by $9.8 million from Royalties for Regions, which helped
deliver 49 independent living units which have been embraced by the local community
