Shadow Minister for Agriculture, Lachlan Hunter MP, has congratulated Anne Stroud on her appointment as the 67th President of the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA).
Mr Hunter said Ms Stroud’s appointment was a significant milestone for one of Western Australia’s most respected agricultural institutions and reflected her lifelong commitment to agriculture and regional communities.
“Anne is a passionate advocate for Western Australian agriculture and brings a wealth of experience from farming, governance and industry leadership to the role,” Mr Hunter said.
“Having grown up in the Wheatbelt and remaining actively involved in farming, Anne understands both the opportunities and challenges facing regional Western Australia.
“The Royal Agricultural Society of WA plays a vital role in promoting agriculture, strengthening the connection between city and country, and inspiring the next generation of agricultural leaders.”
Mr Hunter also acknowledged the significance of Ms Stroud becoming the first woman to lead the Society in its nearly 200-year history.
“This is an historic appointment and a fitting recognition of the contribution women have made, and continue to make, to Western Australian agriculture,” he said.
“I look forward to working with Anne and the Royal Agricultural Society of WA as they continue to champion our farmers, regional communities and agricultural industries.
“I also thank outgoing President John Snowball for his leadership and service to the Society during a period of growth and renewal.”
