Volunteering comes in many guises.
Some volunteers are visible because of their uniform, whilst many others work quietly behind the scenes and are not necessarily acknowledged. It is the wide range of contributions provided by volunteers that make our communities strong and vibrant places to live.
The volunteers in uniforms often work in dangerous or high pressure situations attending fires, accidents or emergencies. We sincerely thank them for the personal sacrifices they make in keeping us safe.
Over the last few weeks, volunteers usually involved with sporting associations, event organisations or clubs have been limited in their activities. This has not stopped people from reaching out to help others in many small ways that make a big difference.
Whatever your skills or strengths, and however you volunteer, your contributions are valued and we say a BIG THANK YOU.
