Nationals for Bateman

I’m looking forward to putting common sense back into politics. I’ve never been prouder to run for public office than for The Nationals WA in Bateman.

Good old-fashioned country values where your word is your bond is what I grew up with and live by every day.  What you see is what you get, I’ve never been afraid to have an opinion or speak up. The Bateman electorate is a natural fit for me given Booragoon is my home along with my partner of 20 years, he’s been a local for almost 40. My Real Estate Business is in Mt Pleasant, and I give back to this community I love at every opportunity.

As an inaugural member of the Brentwood Village Town Team, we have been responsible for with the support of grants; the mural on the wall behind The Mt Pleasant Good Grocer, a multicultural dinner at the Blue Gum Community Centre, the Brentwood Village Parklet outside Denada Café, the Community Treasure Hunt to activate the parklet and the monthly Buy Nothing Market Day. These projects are vital to building a more vibrant and inclusive community.

Whether your community is regional or in the city, we have similar needs, that is, putting people first.  Strong communities are the backbone of our State.

What you may not know, is my parents were farming in Grass Patch when I was born almost 55 years ago, I grew up in Esperance, lived and worked in Kalgoorlie before heading to the city in 1989. I have worked in Hospitality, Mining, and the Real Estate Industry for 30+ years. As a small business owner, my volunteer work includes Bridging the Gap, a NFP for 7 years and Camp Kulin Charities Inc.

My experience in running a successful local business means I understand the issues facing small business owners. We are often left behind in decisions made by this current government. We need the ability to offer local services to our communities seamlessly and someone to highlight the roadblocks to success. Small businesses keep our communities thriving and they need more support.

I’m running to change the government.   Its ideology is suffocating our economy and our people’s aspirations.  Record surpluses are being squandered while we have a housing, health system and cost of living crisis.
