Scott Leary is a long-time Albany local, small business operator, and proud representative of the Great Southern in the Western Australian Parliament.
With over three decades in business at Albany City Motors and a background in finance with Westpac, Scott understands the pressures facing regional families and employers—from housing shortages and staff retention to red tape and rising costs. He’s not a career politician, but someone who’s lived the realities of regional life and wants to deliver practical, community-focused solutions.
Scott has deep roots in the community. He’s a life member of the Albany Volleyball Association, a volunteer firefighter with the Kalgan Bushfire Brigade, and a familiar face on local sporting tribunals and committees. He spent a decade on the board of South Regional TAFE and has long supported youth development, education and volunteering.
Scott lives in Albany with his wife Fran, where they’ve raised two sons and have been active across schools, sport and local events. As a Member of The Nationals WA, Scott is focused on strengthening services, supporting small business, and creating opportunities for the next generation across Albany, Mount Barker, Plantagenet and the wider Great Southern.
