Member for Warren-Blackwood, Terry Redman, encourages local governments and community groups in the region to apply for grants of up to $2000 to host events and activities that celebrate Children’s Week.
Children’s Week, from October 22 to 30, is an opportunity to celebrate children and families by increasing their connection with the community and engaging in activities that promote play and discovery.
“I have been privileged to see some wonderful facilities for children in the Warren-Blackwood district and I admire the amazing work of parents and staff in nurturing the development of our next generation,” Mr Redman said.
“Children’s Week is a special time to celebrate and promote the rights of children to enjoy their childhood, and I encourage regional groups to host events that bring children and families together to engage in fun activities,” Mr Redman said.
Local Shires and community groups have until September 30 to apply for the funding, made possible by the Liberal National Government, through the Meerilinga Young Children’s Foundation, who have convened Children’s Week in WA since 1985.
