NATIONALS WA Member for the South West, Colin Holt MLC, has thanked Harvey Golf Club participants for supporting the charity Foodbank WA.
Colin sponsored a recent Club day at Harvey Golf Club where competitors contributed a can of non-perishable food for donation to Foodbank WA.
Foodbank is WA’s largest food relief organisation, providing over 4 million meals a year to people in need right across WA. Foodbank distributes food to the Great Southern community through a network of 80 local welfare agencies.
Mr Holt said that the food drive showed the generosity of club volunteers and golfers, stating “Harvey Golf Club members and visitors donated over 87 kilograms of non-perishable food”.
“By ensuring people have access to safe, nutritious food in times of need, you can help someone doing it tough get back on their feet faster”
To Western Australians in crisis, a can of food can mean the difference between a meal and going hungry.
The food will be distributed to food programs across the South West from the Food Bank branch located in Bunbury.
