NATIONALS Member for the South West, Colin Holt MLC is asking Denmark Country Club and Riverview Country Club members and visitors to join in the fight against hunger by doing the can-can.
Mr Holt will be sponsoring a club day at the Denmark Country Club 29th October and Riverview Country Club 30th October 2016 to support locally based charity Foodbank WA.
So does Mr Holt believe high kicking can help stop hunger? Mr Holt explains; “No dancing is required! I’m asking people to do the can-can because a can (of food), can help. All competitors can do the can-can by donating a can of food at the specially marked boxes at the club.
Foodbank WA supplies charities and schools with the provisions they need to fight hunger in the community, with a network extending from Perth into regional centres around Albany, Bunbury, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Peel.
“Foodbank WA provides food to the most vulnerable in our community and this is a great way for members and visitors to the Country Clubs make a difference. Every little bit helps, so please contribute by providing a canned food donation” Mr Holt said.
“Can I count on you to help? Your donation of canned food could make the difference between someone in your community having a meal or going hungry”.
