Member for North West Central Vince Catania travelled to Mount Magnet to officially open the weekend festivities at Astro Rocks Fest.
“Getting out in the electorate and celebrating community events is a role that I most enjoy,” said Vince.
“The community of Mount Magnet should be extremely proud of the festivities over the weekend. A great local turn out as well as visitors from surrounding communities and travellers passing through on holidays.”
Funding through the Regional Events Scheme, a Royalties for Regions program, assist in enabling events like this to occur.
Royalties for Regions is investing $60 million in Tourism WA’s regional events program to help grow regional areas into thriving and sustainable communities.
“Tourism plays an important role in the social and economic benefits in remote communities and hosting events such as the Astro Rocks Fest that draws visitors from surrounding communities and travellers plays a key role in bringing valuable promotion, vibrancy and prosperity to communities,” said Vince.
“I congratulate all involved in bringing this successful and enjoyable event not only to the community of Mount Magnet, but to surrounding community members and visitors to the area and I look forward to being part of next year’s festivities.”
