A $51,243 State Government Lotterywest grant will help pave the way towards an upgrade of Nyabing’s local Memorial Park.
Member for Wagin Terry Waldron MLA presented the Lotterywest grant to representatives at the Shire of Kent, where Nyabing is located, late last week.
“This Lotterywest funding has been granted towards the upgrade of Nyabing’s popular Memorial Park,” Mr Waldron said.
“The aim of this upgrade is to enhance active participation and community wellbeing for children and families in Nyabing and surrounds.”
Mr Waldron welcomed the Lotterywest allocation and said the local project would have widespread benefits.
“I’m pleased this funding will be used to assist with these important improvements, and I continue to support initiatives that promote community wellbeing and social cohesion in the regions,” he said.
Mr Waldron congratulated the Shire of Kent and Shire President Megan Tuffley, who accepted the grant on behalf of the shire.
The town of Nyabing is located about 320 kilometres south east of Perth, in the Wagin electorate.
Each year approximately 1000 not-for-profit groups share in Lotterywest Grants totalling millions of dollars raised from the sale of Lotterywest Games.
Lotterywest grants support a variety of projects and organisations that improve the lives of Western Australians.
