The Nationals WA have put out the call for dynamic young Western Australians interested in learning more about the political world to nominate themselves for the President’s Advance Program.
Developed by The Nationals WA, the President’s Advance Program will take successful applicants on an engaging journey into State and Federal politics.
Participants will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of political decision making, including developing and debating policies, working with the media, and spending time in a ministerial office.
Nationals WA President James Hayward said the President’s Advance Program was a fantastic opportunity for young people seeking to develop their interest in politics.
“The Nationals WA recognise that we must engage with the younger generation in order to continue to have a diverse, vibrant and growing political party.
“The President’s Advance Program is a wonderful initiative and supports the great work being done by our dedicated team of Young Nationals,” Mr Hayward said.
The program is now in its seventh year, with former participants going on to have rewarding careers within The Nationals, including as electorate officers, policy advisers, campaign officers and media advisers to State and Federal branches of The National Party.
Participants in the program will also have the opportunity to work in a Ministers’ office and travel to the Eastern States to participate in various party conference and gain campaign experience in future Federal and State elections.
“The PAP is a very hands-on program, and participants will take as much away from it as they put in. If you enjoy a challenge and are interested in getting to know the political decision making process, this is a great opportunity,” Mr Hayward said.
“This program has been a great platform to develop future leaders, and I look forward to working with a new group of participants in 2016.”
