Water Corporation has completed a $7.8 million suite of projects to improve Denham’s water supply scheme, including the construction of a new water storage tank for the town.
Member for North West Central Vince Catania said the new 200,000 litre capacity tank was the last project to be completed as part of the suite of upgrades.

“Denham’s water supply scheme is quite unique, as it includes a dual reticulation system, which provides both drinking and fit-for-purpose saline water to the community through two sets of pipes,” Vince said.
“The new $4 million water tank is segmented to hold 100,000 litres of both drinking water and fit-for-purpose water. The tank provides a significant increase in water storage capacity for Denham and replaces 20,000 litre and 43,000 litre storage tanks, which were decommissioned and removed in January.”
Vince explained a dual reticulation scheme was used in Denham to reduce the use of high quality drinking water in the town.
“Providing fit-for-purpose water for uses such as irrigating gardens and lawns, water features, vehicle washing and toilet flushing, saves precious drinking water.”
Last year, Water Corporation completed a $3.8 million upgrade to Denham’s water treatment plant, which increased its capacity from 865,000 litres per day to 1.15 million litres per day.
“The suite of upgrades to Denham’s water supply scheme will cater for growth and demand experienced during peak holiday seasons with visitors to both Denham and Monkey Mia,” added Vince.
